Bullying in the Workplace: Understanding and Responding to Adult Bullying
Organizations that serve children are also workplaces for adults. What this means for Olweus Bullying Prevention Program implementation as we face workplace bullying among adults in the schools? This webinar will cover adult bullying through the lens of the workplace with a specific look at what that looks like in a school setting.
Drs. Scott and Zagenczyk will address the prevalence of organizational mistreatment (e.g., bullying, incivility) particularly as displayed by organizational leaders. They will discuss the impact that such behavior has on employees as well as some of the drivers of leader bullying and what types of organizations are most at risk.
When adults focus on the treatment of bullying behavior among the student population, students will observe and scrutinize the adult relationships. Deb Gadsden will discuss how destructive adult relationships undermine the establishment of positive school climates, including the difficulty of adult bully targets to implement school bullying prevention strategies when they are bully targets as well.
The webinar will conclude with a discussion of ways that organizations can minimize workplace bullying behaviors.
