Training for Community Youth Organizations (CYO) provides youth-serving organizations with practical strategies to prevent bullying, reduce incidents of bullying, and enrich peer relationships in out-of-school settings.

There are two options for CYO training.

CYO Trainer Course

The Community Youth Organization Trainer Course prepares youth program leaders to train and support a community youth organization with implementation of the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program. The cost is $4,300 per participant and includes:

  • 16 hours of training
  • Asynchronous independent work
  • Virtual or in-person instructor-led training
  • 2 online training modules
  • Consultation with an Olweus Technical Assistance Consultant for up to 10 sesssions over a 1-year period
  • Electronic copy of the Trainer's Manual
  • Access to CYO Training and Consultation resources
  • Olweus Bullying Prevention Program Community Youth Organization Guide, including a Youth Survey

Part 1: What is Bullying and Why Address It?
This one-hour online module is designed to assist community youth organizations (CYOs) in using the Community Youth Organization Guide: Practical Strategies from the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program. This module helps CYOs apply the knowledge within their organization.

Part 2: Ten Practical Strategies for Effective Bullying Prevention
This one-hour online module is designed to assist CYOs in using the ten strategies from the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program found in the Community Youth Organization Guide and helps CYOs determine ways to use the strategies within their organization.
